Grey’s Anatomy season 13 finale spoilers: No catastrophe, but lots of drama

Grey's Anatomy season 13 finale spoilers

The first round of Grey’s Anatomy season 13 finale spoilers are in, and it looks like you better brace yourself for what’s ahead!

While this isn’t the most in-depth teaser in the world, we do think that Kevin McKidd’s comments about the final episode of the season to TVLine are still important. At this point in the process, we’ll take almost anything we can get to know how they are planning to wrap things up:

“It’s pretty dramatic and pretty intense … Debbie [Allen]’s going to direct it, and it’s going to be amazing.”

Allen directs many of the show’s most-notable episodes, in addition to being an executive producer and occasional actress on the series. She checks just about as many different boxes as possible when it comes to talent!

The site also confirms that there will be no sort of enormous disaster / catastrophe for the finale this time, which is significant given how some past seasons have concluded with a plane crash, an active shooter at the hospital, or a torrential storm threatening the lives of many key characters. We’d be shocked if the show goes by without giving us another one of these episodes eventually, but it’s not happening this year. Still, we’re betting on there being a cliffhanger just because this is the sort of thing that the network would want to have given that we know Grey’s Anatomy season 14 is coming on the air this fall. They have to give us something to be worried about over the summer!

There are a laundry list of things that we’d love to see Grey’s Anatomy tackle before getting to the finale. For one, it’d be nice to have a little bit more resolution on the subject of the Owen – Amelia relationship, and we’d also like to see Meredith and Riggs either go all-in on the relationship or opt to move on to other facets of their lives. We’d also find it entertaining to see what happens if one of the doctors developed some sort of either regional or national fame for their work beyond just the doctor circuit, but that may be more in the fanfiction department than anything that is likely to be coming up on the show itself.

Remember that there is also a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy airing on ABC Thursday night. To preview it further, all you have to do is head over here.
