Saturday Night Live: Louis CK hosting April 8; The Chainsmokers performing
Here’s the great news — Louis CK is returning to the show once more! The brilliantly-funny host will be coming on board come April 8, while The Chainsmokers will serve as the musical guest for the outing. This is great news given that CK was excellent in his past outings, and we know that he’ll probably have a great take on the political landscape right now. Since he’s not on social media, you don’t hear from him all that often.
There are two different comparisons that we can easily make to some other shows this season, and those are the ones hosted by Dave Chappelle and Aziz Ansari. They were two of the best shows of the entire season, especially when it comes to being daring and outside the box. The edgier SNL gets at this point in the season, the better off it’s going to get.
As for The Chainsmokers, we’re not anywhere near as familiar with their music, but we know that they’ve had some recent hits and they will bring in a younger demographic. After all, we’re not altogether sure just what the under-25 crowd is going to be getting out of seeing CK host the show. Getting the Chainsmokers should balance everything out.
So why the long wait between new episodes of the show? Well, a big part of the wait has to deal with the fact that we got so many episodes in the fall to cover the election, and as a result of that, we’re getting a leaner run in the spring. One of the biggest things we hope for is a return for Melissa McCarthy, as well!
