Real Housewives of Atlanta: Is Kandi Burruss – Porsha Williams ‘drugged’ drama new low?
There have been some weird and wacky controversies on The Real Housewives of Atlanta over the years. We’ve seen people screaming at Kim Zolciak for petty things, we’ve watched some of the men get physical with each other, and we’ve absolutely seen Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams got at it with each other at a reunion show. Somehow, though, we still managed to create a new low for the series courtesy of the Porsha Williams ‘drugged’ controversy, which may be the most ridiculous and false thing that’s ever been said on the show.
For some reason, Porsha made it her mission this weekend to announce that Kandi and her husband Todd had this sort of secret, nefarious plan to drug her, kidnap her, and then have some sort of ridiculous three-way sex with her in their secret dungeon. She’s also claimed that Kandi spent the past several years in some secret lesbian relationship. Prosha, seriously? There are times when Porsha is like a walking tabloid. There are other times where she just says things with almost no evidence to back it up and expects somehow that we’re going to smile, nod, say “okay,” and then go about our business. (We could make a political joke SO easily here.)
Given how much Porsha forced the issue of Kandi both before and during the Hawaii trip, it’s actually shocking that things only went as far as they did given that Porsha was, effectively, accusing Kandi of attempting to commit some pretty terrible crimes that are typically prevalent over on Law & Order: SVU. They eventually got into a heated shouting match, but that was prompted as much as anything by accusations that Todd Tucker was somehow a “fraud.” We think that Kandi may be in the process of developing some sort of Porsha filter where she just forgets about the majority of the stuff that was said.
For the record, much of this nonsense is still playing on even after the show. Porsha posted on Twitter a copy of one of the “receipts” Kandi handed out to prove what happened with the two of them one night, and then pointed out that the date was from almost three years ago. We don’t know what Porsha’s trying to say with all of this other than prove that she’s right, and that brings us back to our central point that The Real Housewives of Atlanta is now I’M RIGHT AND I CAN PROVE IT. Everyone is so desperate to have it their way (not like the Burger King motto) that they’ll go to ridiculous lengths in the process.
It’s hard to buy anything Porsha’s saying at this point, mostly because it’s all so ridiculous. We just wonder why she keeps beating the drum.
