Supergirl season 2, episode 15 preview: Alex tries to stop alien kidnappings

Alien kidnappings -

On Supergirl season 2, episode 15 Monday night entitled “Exodus,” one of the things that you’re going to see are alien kidnappings taking place across all of National City. The easiest way to describe this may simply just be racism against aliens who did effectively nothing wrong, and are just doing what they can in order to survive. They’re already being discriminated against, and now Project Cadmus is devising a plan in order to round all of them up.

We would be silly if we were to sit here and said that this is a show devoid of politics. There are obviously some similarities between what is going on here and what’s happening in the political world, and it is probably intended to be that way. After all, you’re looking at a story here that revolves for the most part around a group that are perceived as “different” being taken away and discriminated against. At the center of this is a group who believes that what they are doing is justified, even if nobody else feels the same exact way.

Luckily, aliens do have some heroes, and in this particular preview, it’s a hero without a costume! Alex Danvers shows up in order to stop someone from kidnapping an alien out of their car, and she does so with one quick punch to the face. Very few times has Alex been as awesome as this. She gets in, does her job, and sets the stage for a larger battle.

The reality here remains that we’re probably looking at one of the most emotional battles of the season for Alex and Kara Danvers, given that they’re likely aware of the fact that Jeremiah is at the center of everything still, and it’s not entirely clear why he would want to capture all of the aliens in National City when his own daughter is one. It raises plenty of questions, so hopefully this episode delivers some answers.
