The Big Bang Theory season 11 renewal based on Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch deals

The big bang theory

It looks like we’re getting closer to a Big Bang Theory season 11 renewal, but there is one snag that may still be holding it up.

According to a report from Variety, the show’s getting closer to having a deal done, but the main snag for now is negotiating the deals for Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik, who have been with the show since the third season and are seeking through their representatives substantial raises. When you think in terms of numbers, it makes sense. These two ladies have been making roughly $200,000 an episode — while this may be a lot, consider for a minute here that the original five cast members make roughly $1 million an episode each and are among the top earners on all TV. The show’s successful, so if the market dictates a pay raise, then the actors are some of the people who get it given their talent keeps the show on the air.

As for how much of a raise will happen, that’s still the question mark. The reps would like to see parity with the original five, and there is a case for that. Right now, the number seems closer to $450,000 an episode because of Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, and Simon Helberg all agreeing to cut $100,000 an episode from each of their fees in order to help pay for their co-stars. Sure, you can be cynical and argue that they could’ve given more, but they absolutely didn’t have to do this so we give them all the props for the offer.

We do think that in the end, the final number will probably be lower than the original cast, but far higher than where it is now. We also project that the show will get a two-season renewal, which is something that we definitely saw discussed before we got around to this point.
