‘The Big Bang Theory’ cast closing in on deal for season 11, season 12

The Big Bang TheoryWhen we’ve spoken in the past about “The Big Bang Theory” in the current cast situation, one of the things that we’ve specifically said is that we’d like to see the show come back for two more years. This enables the entirety of the cast and crew to tell more than forty additional stories, and prepare to wind it down while still remaining relevant and highly-rating.

While we cannot guarantee that season 12 will be the final season of the show (we’re just stating our opinion here), what we can tell you is that CBS seems to be eager to get the cast back together again. According to Deadline, the network and Warner Bros. TV are closing in on deals with the original five cast members (Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Kunal Nayyar, and Simon Helberg) on new contracts that will keep all of them around on the show at a figure reasonably close to the $1 million or so that they are making per episode now. Yes, that is a crazy-high figure for TV, but remember that this show makes an incredible amount of money all over the globe, and without the cast, there wouldn’t be a show to even discuss here.

The report also notes that the show’s other regulars in Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik are set to earn a far more substantial raise after making significantly less than the other cast members for the past few seasons. The two joined the show after the first couple of seasons, but have been there now for more than half its run and are as responsible as anyone now for its success.

CBS is continuing to go all-in here on making “The Big Bang Theory” one of its tentpoles for many years to come. Remember now that in addition to this potential pickup, they also have a Sheldon prequel pilot that is currently being considered. It title, at least for the time being, is “Sheldon.”

Do you think the show should have two more seasons before the end, or something either more or less? Share now in the comments, and be sure to head over here right now to secure some further news when it comes to the show. (Photo: CBS.)
