Dancing with the Stars 24 spoilers: Glee alum Heather Morris, Charo, and more

Fifth Harmony Dancing with the Stars -

Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars is right around the corner, and we’ll at least give the show some credit given that the majority of the names we’re hearing right now are reasonably famous.

Now that we’ve said that, this could go down as one of the most slanted seasons of the show in history. Remember how we advocated for casting parity? Well, ABC looked at that idea and threw it RIGHT IN THE GARBAGE. Per a report from E! NewsGlee alum Heather Morris is one of the latest names to sign up for the show.

It’s fair to say that our feelings on this one are especially complicated. Let’s start by saying that Heather Morris is great. She was incredibly funny as Brittany on the Fox series, and she’s someone very much missed on TV. Yet, at the same time she’s a former So You Think You Can Dance contestant who’s toured with Beyonce! Do you know who else are former So You Think You Can Dance contestants? Pros on this show like Lindsay Arnold and Whitney Carson! It just feels like she’s going to torch everyone else on the season. Maybe this is the show not caring about that, or maybe this is the show realizing that if they are going to cast Olympian Simone Biles, they need a contestant who is so good, she will have a significant competitor for the Mirrorball Trophy.

We should also acknowledge the other new rumor out there today that Charo could be appearing on the season, fulfilling the living legend archetype that they often like to have. She’s right up there with Mr. T among the rumored names. It also seems more confirmed than ever that Nick Viall of The Bachelor is also going to be on the show, and that announcement could even be made on tonight’s episode. Creator Mike Fleiss recently teased that a big announcement was in fact coming.
