‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: When is Savitar returning? Tension between Barry, Iris

Savitar -

While the next two episodes of “The Flash” are going to offer us up some rather-great opportunities to dive into the story of Grodd and Gorilla City, at the same time there are some other issues that you know are floating around on the back burner.

One of the biggest ones, of course, is Savitar. He’s the Big Bad of the season, but ever since Barry sent off the Philosopher’s Stone, he’s been incredibly quiet … mostly because he has no choice. The God of Speed is gone … but of course we know that it’s not going to be for good.

Could it actually be Wally West who is responsible for bringing him back? You do have to wonder that, based on some of the early information that we’ve got about “The Wrath of Savitar,” which is the March 7 episode of the show. In his quest to become fast enough to rival the villain, Wally West is going to start to have visions of him. What could this mean? Basically, there’s a good possibility that we could end up seeing him be coerced into doing something that he regrets … especially since he’ll decide for whatever reason to keep it a secret from the team. (Why do these people insist on telling secrets, especially since it rarely ever goes well for any of the characters involved?)

Also in this episode, be prepared to see tension mount further between Barry and Iris over a “dangerous secret” — they really should know that now is not the right time to be keeping secrets from anyone, since what it means is that there will be more tension as we get closer and closer to the fateful time in which Iris’ life could be in grave danger. They’ve got to learn how to better handle some of the danger here without secrets — it’s one of the things that will make them a stronger couple.
