Is ‘Power’ season 4 now set for summer after ‘Outlander’ reveal?
Earlier today, Starz made an announcement probably disappointed many fans of “Outlander,” as it was revealed officially that the third season of the show won’t be coming on the air until September. This is in part due to a rigorous production schedule that is taking them everywhere from Scotland to South Africa. They’ve still got many months to go when it comes to their filming.
Meanwhile, for another show on Starz in “Power,” we’re starting to get relatively close to the end of the road. From what we here the show is extremely deep into production now on its fourth season, and while nothing’s been confirmed as of yet, all signs do point to the show returning now in the same summer timeframe that we saw for season 3. The only reason that we did have some doubt previously was courtesy of wondering what exactly the network was going to do with the upcoming episodes in the event that “Outlander” premiered in the summer.
In the end, though, it makes a whole lot of sense for the series to stand pat. Its ratings are the best thing that the network has going, and while it could face some extra competition this summer courtesy of “Game of Thrones,” we do think that the networks have audiences that are different enough that it shouldn’t make all that big of a dent in anything. Also, it’ll easily be ready in plenty of time. While there is some post-production that will need to be done once filming is completely, this is not a show that will need to throw a lot of CGI in there in order to make the episodes complete.
Now that we’re starting to foresee the premiere date for the show, hopefully there’ll be some further scoop to report about it in the near future, as well. For the time being, our feeling is that there should be the first teaser coming our way in either April or May.
