‘Celebrity Big Brother 19’ finale: Will James Cosmo or Kim Woodburn win?
Tonight marks the finale for the 19th season of “Celebrity Big Brother,” and while we’d say that this was a pretty boring final week or so for the show, at least the majority of it was entertaining. The frustrations that we have with the season mostly are spawned from the fact that by and large, we’ve seen the British public prioritize keeping around either polarizing or boring people over others that are far more capable of bringing drama.
Take, for example, Bianca. How did she make it this far? Nicola McLean is a surprise in her own right — we at least get that Coleen Nolan was a relatable underdog, so this one makes a certain degree of sense. Jedward, meanwhile, is the sort of houseguest-pair who is either loved or loathed; it wouldn’t shock us if they win, mostly because we know that there is that super-devoted following waiting in the wings out there to crown them.
Still, we have a hard time declaring anyone the potential champion other than James Cosmo. He entered this season as one of the more famous people in the house, and he’s got the best demeanor to go along with it. He’s been a shoulder for the other players to lean on, and even they wanted to keep him around forever via the eternal immunity twist. He won’t be the most exciting winner ever, but the perception is that he’s decent within a world without decency.
The one knock against James is him not wearing the superhero costume, a sign that he thought at one point that he was above it all.
The one other person who may have a slight chance at this is Kim Woodburn, mostly because her antics and arguments endeared herself to many people out there in the world. She’s probably the pick of people voting for the housemate who caused the most trouble, even if she didn’t actually experience the full season after coming in after several other contestants were already eliminated.
