‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8, episode 11 preview: Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, and greater challenges ahead

Salvatore -

We are starting to get more and more into the home stretch for “The Vampire Diaries” as a series, and one thing continues to feel rather clear: Cade is not making life easy on Damon and Stefan Salvatore. The two brothers have been forced into doing some terrible things so far since agreeing to his deal, and unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though that arrangement is going to be slowing down at all in the near future.

As a matter of fact, moving into next week we could see things escalate further in “You Made a Choice to Be Good.” This is an unusual title given the fact that this upcoming episode is about two guys who are getting more evil orders — but, who knows? Maybe there is a chance for someone to be good at a point in the near future.

Synopsis – “Cade (guest star Wolé Parks) returns to Mystic Falls and presents Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) with additional assignments, each with unthinkable consequences. Even with tension growing in their friendship, Caroline (Candice King) and Matt (Zach Roerig) do their best to protect the town’s residents from Cade’s appetite for their souls. Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) hit the road on a romantic trip, taking the bell with them in hopes to keep it safe.”

The one thing we feel pretty confident about going into this episode is that more than likely, we’re going to see some carnage, and we’re going to see the plans for at least one of the good guys not pan out as expected. After all, you just gotta remember that this is “The Vampire Diaries,” and this is a show where not everyone is going to be able to make it out of the mess okay.

We will reiterate here, though, that our biggest dream is that by the time we do make it to the end of the series, Damon and Stefan are a little bit closer to the characters we’ve come to know over the years.

Promo – Given that Damon does now have the knowledge of his history with Elena, and all of his pain, let’s just say that this episode should give you some wonderful brotherly conflict.
