‘Chicago Med’ season 2, episode 11 preview: What goes awry for Dr. Rhodes

Chicago MedThere is a new episode of “Chicago Med” airing on NBC Thursday night, and judging from the sneak peek below, we could be seeing one of the most complicated cases yet. Also, you get Colin Donnell in a tuxedo, so it also has that going for it.

In the sneak peek below (first posted by TV Guide), you can see Dr. Rhodes arrive to the hospital with Robyn (they are dressed up for a charity event) in order to help care for a very important patient. As a matter of fact, this patient is so important that you have a prominent Chinese official, a zoo director, and a top veterinarian present. With all of this, plus the patient’s name, in mind, it feels fairly clear to us that Connor is being asked to operate on a panda.

If that theory is correct, how the show presents this case could be rather interesting given that it’s hard to believe that there would be a live panda on the set of the show. Let’s just hope that Rhodes and company figure this case out — while we do very much root for every patient that goes through the hospital doors, we’ve got a particularly soft spot for animals, especially ones that are already endangered species and we need as many of them in the world as we can possibly get.

Let’s hope this episode also gives us more of a chance to get to know Robyn — we’ve had a few opportunities to get to know her here and there, but there is something about her relationship with both Connor and also her father Dr. Charles that we remain interested in exploring. There is still plenty of time left in the season beyond this episode, so even if there is not a whole lot of time to dive into it this week, we figure that opportunities could arise later on down the road.
