‘Bones’ season 12 spoilers: Booth storyline from the past to be tied up

Bones -

Even though there may only be twelve episodes in the final season of “Bones,” we are getting more and more of a sense as to how ambitious the producers are trying to be with them. Do we get the sense that there are going to be some of the traditional and familiar cases that we’ve seen the team crack over the years, but they’ll balance that carefully with personal stories, one that offer you chances to get closure on some of your favorite characters.

Specifically, one of those characters is Booth (David Boreanaz), and for this season executive producers Michael Peterson and Jonathan Collier are going back far to the show’s roots in order to more firmly tie together a major loose end. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Collier confirmed that “there’s a huge arc from Booth’s past that if you watched the first few seasons carefully you’ll know about, that we’re going to wrap up.” Peterson, meanwhile, offered up a little more insight:

“It revolves around pretty much the hardest decision Booth has ever made as a military man, so that’s the past that is going to come back to haunt him.”

If you do consider yourself to be a regular viewer of “Bones,” then at this point you more than likely have a great idea as to what this is. It’s going to be exciting diving more into the show’s past, since it will help to give it a feel of “oh, we’re not just pretending like these things are distant memories.” That’s something that is really frustrating with other shows. We specifically know that for Brennan in particular, one of the moments of excitement is going to come out of getting to see Sully (Eddie McClintock), one of her love interests from the early days of the show, back in action once more.

Of course, before we get to any of that, we have to figure out what is coming with Zack Addy. This will be the focus of the premiere episode.
