Leah Remini takes on Scientology further in ‘Larry King Now’ interview
Over the course of the past several weeks we’ve seen a lot of discussion about former “The King of Queens” star Leah Remini through the lens of her A&E documentary series entitled “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath,” one that has for the most part received a great deal of media attention. While representatives for the controversial church have blasted the show on a number of different occasions, she chose to stick more to her guns in a new interview on “Larry King Now,” one where she made it abundantly clear that she is confident in the truth of every single thing that she said regarding the church.
Specifically, she made it clear to King that if Scientology had any problem with any of the comments that she made over the course of the book, they had a relatively easy recourse for them in that they could contact her directly:
“[If they think anything I’m saying is wrong] they should sue us. It’s as simple as that. They say this on every outlet they can. They have said that about every single person who’s spoken out, and not one lawsuit has been brought to anybody … This is not a group that is scared of a lawsuit. They’re a litigious group. If that were true, they would simply sue us. And I welcome them to do that.”
We will see what happens as a result of that, but for now we can say that Remini’s series has to date been a fairly big success for its network. With more than 2 million people watching the first episode live, it was the biggest series launch for them in over two years. Given that this is a network that hasn’t had too many huge hits as of late beyond “Duck Dynasty” (which has faced controversy for a wide array of other reasons) and “Bates Motel,” they need every bit of help that they can get.
If there are some more interesting highlights and comments that unfold when it comes to Remini’s show, we’ll have them for you here. (Photo: Ora TV.)
