‘The X Factor’ UK: Saara Aalto record deal revealed; will have song written by Sia

Saara -We heard the reports quite some time ago, and it’s now official: Saara Aalto is the latest contestant from “The X Factor” this season to get some sort of a record deal.

What we’ve learned today is that the show’s runner-up now has a contract with Sony Music UK / Sony Music Finland that will allow her a chance an album that suits her style; not only that, but she also will have a song written for her by Sia. Speaking per The Sun, she had the following to say:

“I’m now working with some of the best songwriters in the world and Sia has written a song that has been given to me … I think Sia is a pretty good reference for me because her way of singing and the way she composes the melodies and writes the lyrics is very similar to what I’ve always done.

“I describe my own music as epic love pop. I don’t want to sing about going to a party with friends, I want to sing meaningful songs that can inspire people and I think Sia’s songs are really deep.”

It is certainly possible that Saara ends up being the biggest star of the season when the dust settles, given that she did generate a ton of YouTube traffic from all over the world during the show. However, one of the things that you do have to remember here is that the jury will be out on everyone from Matt Terry to Saara to 5 After Midnight to even Honey G until we actually hear the original music. Even a song from Sia is not a guaranteed hit. You have to work exceptionally hard in order to make sure that you get some success; nothing is given to you, and the industry is incredibly competitive. By the time much of this original music is out there, we’ll have other singing-show contestants who are dominating the airtime.
