‘Bull’ episode 10 preview: Could Bull’s latest client have a major secret?
Earlier this week, the fall finale of “Bull” aired on CBS with a story that accomplished a wide array of different goals, with one of the more noteworthy ones being giving us a chance to learn a little bit more about Dr. Jason Bull’s past and his relationship with his father thanks to him visiting his hometown. Sure, it did play at times into the “my parent’s a con man” trope that has somehow pervaded much of TV these days (look at “Scorpion” and Paige’s mom), but it was still pretty entertaining to watch and we always appreciate a large degree of character backstory.
So where are we going now moving into the new year? We can tell you a thing or two more about that now! The upcoming January 3 installment carries with it the title of “EJ,” and the photo above features Michael Weatherly front and center — and it also makes us wonder whether or not that title is strictly in reference to the car that you see in the photo above. The synopsis below does offer you up a little bit more insight, but you’ll find that a lot of that is strictly related to the case-of-the-week plot and not a whole lot else:
“When Bull assists CEO Ginny Bretton (Justine Lupe), whose company is accused of killing an employee with its self-driving car, he discovers his client is keeping a major secret that could sabotage a trial win.”
The most interesting thing about this case on the surface is simply that it is trying to be incredibly relevant when it comes to taking on present day issues. Just remember how prevalent self-driving cars are in today’s culture, and it is fairly easy to figure that eventually, the time will come when this sort of technology becomes widespread. Here is a little more of a problem: What happens in the event that this said secret Bull’s client holds is that they were aware that the cars contained flaws that could kill people? We don’t think that it takes a whole lot of research in order to figure out precisely what that could mean to the case.
Ultimately, we hope that CBS is going to hand over some more information on this story before we get around to it airing.
