‘Poldark’ season 3 spoilers: Ciara Charteris cast in ‘mystery’ role

While some viewers in America may have just had a chance to finish the second season of “Poldark” over the course of the weekend, we’re glad to be here with a little bit of news worth getting excited about from the upcoming third season. Specifically, we’re talking about a new casting!

In a post on Twitter, Ciara Charteris (“Close to the Enemy”) revealed that she is now officially a part of the Mammoth Screen production for BBC One, and made it clear she is “excited to be joining this wonderful show.” This is the sort of series that we’re presume almost any actor would love to be a part of there, so there’s no real surprise in her reaction.

As for who Charteris is going to be playing on the series, we presume that there is a certain element of mystery to that for the time being — though we know there are many guesses floating around the internet and some of them are likely right. We’re not getting too specific here mostly for the sake of preserving the mystery, given that we do think that there is something rather fun that comes out of doing just that, even for a show like this that is an adaptation.

At present, there is still no official word as to when “Poldark” season 3 is going to premiere, but you can rest assured that it will be coming at some point in the new year and pick up where season 2 left off in some shape or form. Ross and Demelza were making an attempt once more at making their marriage work, but there were stumbling blocks ahead. Mostly notably, there was the issue of Elizabeth expecting a child that could belong to Ross, but they don’t know about that just yet.
