‘Chicago Fire’ season 5, episode 7 preview: Meet Dawson’s parents!

We we start to near the end of the road of “Chicago Fire” — at least in 2016 — there are many more key stories that are going to be coming up. Specifically, next week’s new episode entitled “Lift Each Other” will provide a few more opportunities to see some big stories play out — most notably for Dawson and her brother Antonio.

In further proving that Jon Seda is the busiest man working in the “Chicago” franchise at the moment, Antonio is appearing on this show after making the transition over to “Chicago Justice” over on his previous show in “Chicago PD.” As for why he’s turning up on this show … well, let’s just say that we made that rather clear in the title for this article.

Synopsis – “It’s a family reunion when Dawson (Monica Raymund) and Antonio’s (guest star Jon Seda) mother and father come to Chicago for their big anniversary party, but things quickly turn south. When a deep secret comes to the surface involving his stepson James (guest star Juan Lozada), Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) decides to take matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, Casey (Jesse Spencer) tries to save a young boy during a harrowing call to a warehouse and Otis (Joe Minoso) and Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) become competitive at the mud-hundred race.”

As per usual within the “Chicago Fire” universe, we’ve got a healthy mixture of stories here. For Casey, we’ve got him facing yet again a significant amount of danger not far removed from his dramatic rescue mission while working as the Alderman. Meanwhile, the story for Otis and Stella should be rather fun — Stella certainly needs a break, given everything that she’s been through as of late when it comes to Severide.

Promo – It may not be altogether substantial, but this gives you everything from Dawson’s “family secret” (no idea what that means) to Boden going over the edge over an assault that hits close to home.
