‘Dancing with the Stars 23’ results: Was Jana Kramer or Calvin Johnson eliminated before grand finale?

Tonight’s “Dancing with the Stars” episode was one stuffed full of a lot of fun, and at the same time, there were some emotional moments given that not every routine went according to plan. By the end of the episode, we felt especially bad for one Jana Kramer after some struggles in her routines — and her partner Gleb Savchenko trying to do his best despite having the flu.

Going into the night, our sentiment was that we would probably be seeing the end of the road for Jana given that she’s seemingly got the smallest fan base of the remaining dancers. However, we were slightly worried for Calvin Johnson. The general consensus around the internet seems to be that the fight for the Mirrorball Trophy is really between James Hinchcliffe and Laurie Hernandez.

Now, the results – The first person saved tonight from elimination was Laurie, and then Calvin followed her. Given that it was between James and Jana in the end, we felt all the more confident (unfortunately for Jana) that it would be her heading home. James is being talked about as a winner pick by some!

In the end, America did decide to send Jana packing, but she doesn’t have anything at all to be sad about given that she made it really far, much further than we even imagined that she would at the start of the season. She had some breakout dances, and we really think that she had a journey that will change her life. What more could you ask for from a journey this season?
