‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ episode 10 (finale) spoilers: The nightmare ends
This season, “American Horror Story” is clearly going about things its own way. You’ve got shows-within-shows, multiple versions of the same character, and a story that in the end, feels a little bit like an indictment on celebrity and fame more so than anything else. The more people pursue in this world, and the more it corrupts them.
Therefore, maybe we’re down for the ultimate corruption in the finale next week (this season is a little bit shorter than the ones that came before it), even if there are not too many people actually left to experience it. We’ve seen countless deaths, and at the same time, we’ve also got the better-late-than-never debuts of Taissa Farmiga and Jacob Artist, who people were excited to see on the show for a rather long time. (Granted, it’s not either one of them lasted long.)
Moving out of all of this, the sole survivor to the madness was Lee, ironically the one person who was guilty of murder before things even got crazy. She watched the police murder Audrey, so what comes next? Does she try to pursue more fame as a result of this?
The biggest thing we’re hoping to see in this finale is something that does feel does worth it. This is the probably with many products within the horror genre; it’s really hard to come up with an ending that sticks with you. It’s something this show’s also struggled with in the past.
Probably the biggest disappointment right now is how little FX is putting out there about what’s coming up next. Sure, we understand that you wanna keep things a secret, but why not give us a little tease? The only thing we can picture for the finale in our head is Lee trying to move on acting like she was innocent yet again, and some literal / metaphorical ghost coming back to haunt her.
