Is ‘NCIS’ season 14, episode 7 new tonight, and why the sudden change?
Consider tonight a bit of blindside if you were planning to turn on CBS tonight to get a new episode of “NCIS“: The network opted to execute a last-second switcheroo over the past 24 hours.
So what happened? It really is as simple as this: The World Series was extended to six games, and as a result of that, the programmers didn’t want any part of that competition. On paper, we certainly get it. Would you really want to air something so essential to your brand up against one of the biggest sporting events of the year? Probably not. It’s a move that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
Here’s what we don’t understand about the move: Why in the world CBS opted at first to announce a new episode airing tonight, and even went so far as to release previews and sneak peeks before deciding to pull it. Even if there was no World Series tonight, there would be at least one other enormous distraction getting in the way: The Presidential election. Sure, voting isn’t actually happening until next week, but we feel like so much attention is being paid to that right now that it’s hindering almost the entire entertainment universe around it. It’s better to wait until after the election happens in order for people to (hopefully) be able to focus in on entertainment again.
Here’s our future advice to CBS to make everything so much easier: Just don’t plan anything around the world Series in the future. There are SO many dead weeks that come around in December and January, so go ahead and save some of your new episodes for them. Sure, we know they aren’t “sweeps” periods, but this isn’t the same era for TV anymore. We don’t think that’s anywhere near as relevant.

In this day and age of modern technology, specifically DVR’s, this excuse makes very little sense. And since I record two shows at once my DVR will not allow me to watch another show or program such as the WS game, which ran 3 hours and 29 mins. To make matters worse the network left the guide info to read as if the episode was new. Scope is the episode that should have aired and its the one listed in my DVR log, but it lists the episode as airing on March 15 2016. Dear CBS since you send the information on what show will air to the cable company perhaps you should correct it especially since you knew nearly two days ago that a game 6 would be played.. Now we have to wait two weeks since next week there will be no show due to election coverage. Oh and not everyone watches sports.

“Oh and not everyone watches sports”
And not everyone has a DVR.

That’s true but with cable and satellite companies offering DVR service with their packages, there may be more than we know.

Good grief ! SERIOUSLY ? Does the network know how many people were looking forward to watching something NEW tonight…..OTHER than the election crap? Of course, they could care LESS about fans…because, what do FANS know? (I’ll tell you ONE thing that we, the fans, know…we know the show wouldn’t make it another season without us—WE haven’t forgotten it, but it seems the NETWORK HAS. CRAP on CBS…….

Horrifyingly disgusting…..one more way to make sure our government shows their @$$ and can control anything and everything. God forbid Hilary looks bad again because of a TV show. SHE does a good job showing her @$$ all on her own. SO just leave our TV shows alone. Let the people have some sort of normalcy.

what the viewers think or want doesn’t make one damn bit of difference to them

IMO, your advice is at best weak, at worst horrible. Good job, good effort.
