‘NCIS’ season 14, episode 7 sneak peek: See Robert Wagner’s return as Tony Sr.!
It’s strange to see “NCIS” this season without Anthony DiNozzo on board; it’s even stranger to see his father without her around.
The sneak peek below from the November 15 episode (there’s no new installment tonight) almost feels like the final reminder that Tony isn’t going to be coming back, given that Robert Wagner’s character is here to serve as landlord for his famous apartment. Tony’s decided to continue living in Paris with his daughter, and with that, he’s got no use for the apartment anymore. Senior wants to see if any of Tony’s former colleagues is interested in the place, and here’s the kicker — they all are!
From here, we like to imagine something akin to a ridiculous showdown where each person comes in and attempts to convince Senior that they’re the right person to both look after it and also take care of his fish. Bishop, Abby, and McGee are all prime candidates for it. If we had to choose between the three, we’d probably give it to Abby right now given that she’s the character we’d like to see get this sort of upgrade that she could use to have more personal stories the rest of the series. Even though she’s been around from the very beginning, we know less about her than we do other people. McGee’s already got a showcase episode this season courtesy of his engagement to Delilah, and with Bishop it’s all a matter of seniority. We also figure there will be some other opportunities for her to stand out in upcoming episodes, and she doesn’t have the same history or friendship with Tony.
The verdict will be reached one way or another; here’s to hoping that this story ends up matching the expectations that we have for it now in terms of comedy.
