‘Chicago Med’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Goodwin’s past; Halstead’s new venture
“Chicago Med” is a show that never seems interested in settling on just one storyline, and for the most part, that does tend to benefit them. Much like the hospital itself, the show’s at its best when there are several different things going on at the same time.
Moving into next week’s “Inherent Bias,” however, we could see some characters find themselves in further trouble. Danny’s story is going to continue following what you see tonight, and you’re also going to see Dr. Halstead brought into a business venture that he may not find to be altogether effective for him at all.
Synopsis – “Sharon Goodwin’s (S. Epatha Merkerson) childhood sweetheart arrives at the hospital, but finds himself in dire straits. To help get his financial footing, Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) gets lured into a concierge doctor app idea. Meanwhile, a young woman with a heart infection is treated by Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) against Dr. Charles’ (Oliver Platt) advice and Reese’s (Rachel DiPillo) former patient, a sex trafficking victim, reaches out to her for help.”
There’s clearly a lot of stories in here that could prove emotional, but even if things go south for some of them, we do hope that there is a reason for positivity on the other side. We would draw the parallel to Dr. Manning’s story tonight; Natalie managed to find hope in what the child scientists were working on after struggling with her own patient.
Promo – This specifically brings up the emotional story ahead for Goodwin as she wrestles with a decision when it comes to her former love. She wants to keep him alive, but is this the right move? Is she really going to be able to think clearly?
