‘Dancing with the Stars 23’ results: Was Maureen McCormick, Ryan Lochte, Or Marilu Henner eliminated?

Did we have our first “Dancing with the Stars” elimination stunner of the season tonight? For much of season 23, we’ve felt as though the majority of the eliminations were, for the most part, rather expected. Rick Perry was not a good dancer, we weren’t sure if Vanilla Ice had a strong enough fanbase, and while we thought Amber Rose had some dancing talent, the reality was that she was polarizing for much of the internet community who watch the show.

Ultimately, going into tonight’s elimination there were a good trio of pairs we thought would be in danger: Maureen McCormick & Artem Chigintsev, Ryan Lochte & Cheryl Burke, and Marilu Hener & Derek Hough. All three of them are decent on the dance floor, but they’ve all unfortunately run into some metaphorical buzzsaws this season. Terra Jole has a super-inspirational story, James Hinchcliffe was dubbed the best male dancer in the show’s history by Julianne Hough, Calvin Johnson is a football star with a huge following, and Laurie Hernandez was coined the winner by some before the start of the season.

Typically, we’d put Jana Kramer down here as being in danger, as well, but we can’t see anyone sending her home after a dance that gave her perfect scores almost out of nowhere. Thanks to everything we’ve just mentioned, we’d consider anyone other than the aforementioned Maureen, Ryan, or Marliu a shock. Our pre-show pick was Ryan to leave, but we weren’t 100% on it.

Ultimately, when the dust settled and Tom Bergeron called out the names, it was Maureen and Artem who was eliminated from the competition.
