‘Shameless’ season 7, episode 5 preview: More Emmy Rossum – William H. Macy stories ahead
For the Gallagher family on “Shameless,” we’ve long felt that they have a “one step forward, two steps back” sort of mentality. While they do at times make some reasonably good decisions with their lives, they find a way to mess them up.
Granted, we never thought Frank’s decision to go find a pretend family to replace his current one was all that smart, but he’s somehow making it work. Not only that, we’re also going to be seeing him get bailed out in some capacity. For more on that, look below.
Synopsis (via TV Guide) – “Frank learns that a billionaire philanthropist has bought the homeless shelter and that he and his clan can stay. Meanwhile, Fiona gets smart financial advice from a Tinder hookup; and Ian struggles with his feelings for Trevor.”
It seems like the real character development next week could come courtesy of Emmy Rossum’s character, who may be finding a way to focus a little bit on her career even while having a little bit of “romance” (if you can even call it that) at the same time. The thing with the Ian – Trevor storyline, meanwhile, is that we now know it’ll be complicated further by what is coming up down the road. With Mickey coming back on the show in some capacity, there’s a reasonably good chance that in one way or another, we’re going to see him eventually gravitate back towards him by the end of the season. The larger question we wonder is how the show plans on getting around that whole prison dilemma, given that this is where Mickey was the last time that we saw him around on the series.
