‘Chicago Fire’ season 5, episode 3 preview: What trouble lies ahead for Casey, Dawson?
The fifth season of “Chicago Fire” to date is one of characters in crisis. Judging from some of the promotional material we’ve seen for next week’s “Scorched Earth,” this is going to be a theme that continues as we start to see Casey and Dawson find themselves in a tremendous quagmire. This is one that they’re going to need a little bit of help to sort through, which is probably why they are getting some help in the form of Susan Weller to sort some of this one.
While these two characters are dealing with this, rest assured that there’ll be some other interesting stories elsewhere. Severide could be making a 180 after everything he went through in the first two episodes, and the future of Molly’s could be at stake.
Synopsis – “Casey (Jesse Spencer) enlists Susan Weller (guest Star Lauren Stamile) to help with an urgent personal matter. Severide (Taylor Kinney) receives an offer to travel luxuriously with rich party guy Travis Brenner (guest star Scott Elrod) and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) uses all her resources to help a sick street kid after saving him during a tunnel fire. Meanwhile, Otis (Yuri Sardarov) and Herrmann (David Eigenberg) discuss their concerns over Molly’s lack of customers.”
Given how many various members of the “Chicago” franchise have spent time in Molly’s over the years, you’d think that business would be booming! As it turns out, not so much.
Promo – Specifically, this doesn’t give a whole lot away in terms of finer details, but it does give us a really good sense of one particular story thread for Dawson: Her doing her best to save a child’s life, but having it happen in such a way that one wrong move could mean the end.
