‘Supergirl’ season 2, episode 3 preview: Lynda Carter of ‘Wonder Woman’ arrives as the President
Tonight, “Supergirl” brought us the second appearance of Superman, and moving forward into the next new episode of the show, we’re going to get a chance to see another notable person with comic-book ties: Lynda Carter. The former “Wonder Woman” star will be appearing on next week’s new episode “Welcome to Earth” as a different sort of wonder woman: The President of the United States. She’s a powerful woman, but here and there you do need a little bit of help. That is precisely what Kara will be working on over the course of the episode.
Just to make things all the more interesting, this episode will also feature more story for Mon-El, who we haven’t seen too much of over the course of the season to date.
Synopsis – “An attack is made on the President (guest star Lynda Carter) as hot-button, alien vs. human rights issues heat up in National City. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO are assigned to protect the President and bring in the responsible party. Alex (Chyler Leigh) teams up with Detective Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) to investigate the case while Kara searches for a recently escaped Mon-El (Chris Wood), who she fears may be the alien behind the assault.”
Detective Maggie Sawyer should prove to be a very interesting character within this world, mostly because of the various rumors that there could be a same-sex couple on one of the CW series this season. As of right now, there are people out there linking her and Alex. We’ll see what happens there.
Promo – There’s not a whole lot of new material in here, but at the same time, we do certainly think that this is a lot of fun.
