‘Dancing with the Stars’ season 23 could be the last for Maksim Chmerkovskiy — for now
Given his history on “Dancing with the Stars” over time, and the multitude of occasions in which he has stepped away from doing the show, it really should not come as much of a shock that Maksim Chmerkovskiy is not really looking to do any more of the show for the time being. That doesn’t mean he is gone for good, but at the moment, he is looking forward to seeing what is next after working with Amber Rose this season — the first time he’s been a part of the program in a couple of years.
Speaking to Bravo’s “The Daily Dish,” Maks made his thoughts clear with the following:
“Honestly I feel like going on the record and saying two things … First of all, like I’ve already said, I’m having the best time of my life onDancing with the Stars. It’s a known fact. I’ve said it. I was quoted as saying the production is on point. I feel the love. I feel like everybody’s so friendly [and] we all work for the same goal, [which] is to keep dancing in television and produce a beautiful show. Having said that, I’m telling you right now I have zero interest in coming back as a dancer [next season].”
One other factor in this appears to be Maks and Peta Murgatroyd becoming parents for the first time. He claims that he is looking forward to being a “stay-at-home dad” for the first few months after the child is born, and with that we’re sure he does not want the busy schedule that comes with being a part of this show.
Maks and Amber are still going strong as a part of the competition at this point. To see more of their performance to date, be sure to head over to this link. (Photo: ABC.)
