‘Gotham’ season 3, episode 5 preview: Penguin’s problems, Butch’s past, and the search for Ivy
The further along we make it into this season of “Gotham,” and the more it starts to become clear that almost every plan is going to fall apart. For example, Penguin thought that he could control an angry mob of a city, and he is quickly realizing that this is not the case. The further we make it into this season, and the more we think we could be seeing chaos start to become synonymous with Gotham no matter who is in charge.
Can anyone save it? We know that Bruce Wayne and others are going to try their part, but moving into next week’s “Mad City: Anything for You,” it definitely looks as though the odds are stacked against the good guys … especially when they are preoccupied.
Synopsis – “Crime in Gotham is at an all-time high, as Penguin struggles to uphold his promises to the city. Meanwhile, Butch goes down a dark path with the infamous Red Hood Gang and Bruce begins to investigate Ivy’s whereabouts.”
We’re certainly glad to see more of a standalone Butch story, especially since he is a guy with no defined storyline in the comics. Yet, at the same time seeing him go more in his own direction does raise the odds that someone could want to take him down.
Promo – If this episode ends up being anything like what we’re seeing here, odds are that we are in for a treat. It seems that everyone from Riddler to Barbara to Penguin is going to be involved here in some way, and everyone’s going to be left in a sort of peril. That line at the end, though, is beyond awesome.
