‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Margot Robbie, Kate McKinnon have a pre-premiere pre-party (video)
On the same day that “Saturday Night Live” announced that Lin-Manuel Miranda of “Hamilton” fame will be hosting the upcoming October 8 version of the show, we also have the first video preview for this weekend’s premiere with Margoe Robbie!
In the video below, you can see a series of little vignettes featuring the “Suicide Squad” actress and Kate McKinnon, who is fresh off of her Emmy win in the Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category. At first, Robbie’s humor is more of the deadpan variety as she deals with some Kate craziness, in particular courtesy of the latter saying that she brought a raccoon to the studio to effectively spend some time with.
Eventually, though, the two loosen up and have a dance party for what Kate refers to as the “pre-premiere pre-party,” but it has an awkward end when she accused Margot of going a little bit too far.
What should be fairly fun about this show is that Robbie, this could be a chance to further prove herself as a bona fide movie star who is versatile. To date, she’s known mostly for “The Wolf of Wall Street” and the aforementioned DC Comics movie, where she played the oh-so-popular Harley Quinn. She has worked with former cast member / writer Tina Fey before, so that may give her a little bit more insight into what this world is like than the standard movie star who comes aboard.
Ultimately, we’ll find out more this weekend; for now, tell us if you are excited below, and head over here to read up further on what’s coming later this season!
