‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13: Don’t expect immediate movement for Meredith, Riggs

Grey's -Are there some genuine feelings present at the moment between Meredith and Riggs on “Grey’s Anatomy“? Absolutely, but that does not mean the two are set to become an item. It may have looked at times like the two were moving in the direction of becoming a romantic item at the end of season 12, but some recent moves have definitely pushed back on that process.

Interested in some more discussion when it comes to this subject? They you don’t have to look any further than what Ellen Pompeo herself had to say to Entertainment Weekly about why Meredith is pushing her fellow doctor away, and why her sister Maggie has a lot to do with it:

“She really can’t betray her sister again, because the whole premiere episode about Alex being the one who beats up DeLuca is a betrayal because Meredith did not confide to Maggie that she knew who did it … She can’t betray Maggie again, yet she’s finding herself in this triangle that Maggie for sure is going to see as a betrayal.”

Ultimately, you can view this move for now as Meredith trying to get herself out of a cliche situation that would have eventually hurt someone for certain; for us, the larger overall question here is whether or not this is going to be something that sticks. We’re certainly excited to see, since this is a show with long seasons, and if these feelings for Meredith and Riggs continue to simmer, odds are that they will flare up and cause some further problems down the road. It’s a little tricky to think they will remain quiet forever.
