‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 7 spoilers: The (continued) hunt for the chess-piece killer
What do you call someone who is killing people who do bad things in their own right? You could refer to them as Dexter Morgan if you so chose, or you could be talking about the chess-piece killer, someone who is going to be central to the first few episodes of the upcoming seventh season of “Hawaii Five-0.”
We’ve known for a little while now that this character is someone who was going to have an impact in the first two episodes of the season. Now, the synopsis below for “He Moho Hou” (“New Player”), the third episode of this season, makes it clear that you are also going to have this person around for yet another kick at the can:
“When FBI Profiler Alicia Brown (Claire Forlani) finds a body in her bed, she is forced to join McGarrett in the hunt for the chess-piece killer. Also, Kono reconnects with a former surfing competitor (Kanya Sesser), who is now a disabled and homeless war vet, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Oct. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. Elizabeth Röhm also guest stars as a police psychiatrist, Dr. Madison Gray.”
Is it possible that this particular killer, who leaves these pieces as a sort of calling-card, could be around for a significant chunk of the season? Personally, we would be fine to see a show like “Hawaii Five-0” go in a little bit more of a serialized direction since we already know what it can do with case-of-the-week stories. There is just no guarantee at present that this is happening.
