‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 2 spoilers: Show boss on Ofelia mystery
Where in the world is Ofelia? While it may not be as important a question as “where in the world is Carmen Sandiego,” but it’s up there fans of “Fear the Walking Dead.” The character has been missing in action recently. Given that this is not a show just randomly writing out characters for financial reasons (they’d never have that pier scene tonight otherwise), you have to assume that there is some sort of specific reasoning for it, and that is something that will become a little bit clearer over time.
With that in mind, we present you with the following quote from showrunner Dave Erickson to Entertainment Weekly, where he sheds a little bit more light on the subject of her whereabouts:
“We will reconnect with Ofelia very, very soon. She took it upon herself to leave her makeshift family for reasons that we will reveal shortly, and what it will represent for her is the last stab at hope — the last stab at something that for her is really an act of defiance of the apocalypse. We’re starting to lay track and starting to introduce elements that will gradually steer us towards season 3, and her journey is kind of instrumental in that.”
Could that journey lead her someday to the return of a certain Daniel Salazar? That is something to consider, given that we have heard that there is an interest in returning to that character in season 3 and we don’t exactly have 100% proof he’s dead. Maybe he is the Morgan of this world now? That’s what we at least like to think.
