‘Rizzoli & Isles’ series finale video: One last crack at a case

For everyone who loves “Rizzoli & Isles,” Monday night is going to be an emotional one for you. At the end of Labor Day Weekend, we’re going to have a chance to see the final story unfold, and as it turns out, also the final case.

In the sneak peek below, you can see Jane and Maura answering their phones for a case, potentially for one final time, before heading out to whatever the next chapter is. Maybe there will be a part of the fan base annoyed that there is a certain procedural element to the finale, but we’re personally fine with that. You don’t want to make the last episode of the show too different than every one that came before it, mostly because you start to strip away your identity as a result of that. With a traditional case, you’ll get one final chance to say goodbye to some of the little things that you enjoyed about the show from the start.

We’re not sure in the end that there is any series finale for the show that is going to make everyone happy. Therefore, as a result of all of this, the only thing that the show can really do is come up with something that is entertaining and appropriate for the fans who have watched for so many years. If they do that, there is at least a reasonably good shot many people will feel the journey is worth it.
