‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4 premiere: What should happen

Coulson -Season 3 of “Agents of SHIELD” certainly ended with a bang — or really, a series of bangs. We had the deaths of two major characters in Lincoln and Hive, a change of structure at SHIELD, and Coulson (pictured) on the hunt for Daisy Johnson.

So where in the world could the series go from here? This is something that we’re going to try and spotlight in this latest chapter of our What Should Happen series.

Where we left off – At the end of season 3, there were conflicts aplenty, and Daisy’s prophecy came true to a certain extent — unfortunately, she never anticipated that she was going to see two people she had such a connection with go. You do have to remember that at one point during the series’ run, she and Ward were close. She’s now on the run, and the cliffhanger featured Coulson in the field.

What should happen – We’ve learned since the finale that Phil is no longer the Director of SHIELD, and he’s been replaced by known other than Jason O’Mara (“Vegas”). We figure that he’ll be showing up early, and we want to get a sense of him in the premiere. After all, his presence could in turn strongly influence everything that is going on around him.

In addition to this, we want to get a good sense of Daisy’s new mission and what she will be like acting of her own accord. Also, Ghost Rider! We know that the Marvel Now version of the character (Ronnie Reyes) is going to be a part of the story, and this is sort of character you just don’t want to wait to see when you know that they’re coming up. We want this show to feel a fast-paced and even a little fun; we’ve lost Ward, and we need to feel that absence even if we did love Brett Dalton on the show.
