‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 2, episode 9 preview: Nick’s new plan; Madison, Strand’s next move

Tonight, “Fear the Walking Dead” returned to AMC with new episodes, and brought to us a story that was largely about forging the path ahead in uncertain, chaotic times. Sure, in some ways this could be a statement used to describe almost any world that has a zombie apocalypse, but we feel that is especially the case here. At least on “The Walking Dead” proper, you can make the argument that there is some sort of home for the survivors to go home to in Alexandria.

Briefly, some of these people thought they had that in the compound, but that’s gone now. Therefore, on next week’s “Los Muertos,” we are specifically going to see Madison, Strand, and some other members of the group try to answer the oh-so-simple-but-not-really question of where in the world they are going to go from here.

Meanwhile, Nick will have a story of his own, something that the synopsis describes as a “perilous assignment.” What does make him interesting is the sole fact that he is far more equipped for certain jobs in this world than anyone else. Also, this is a man who has shown a bizarre fixation with death, and this may make him equipped to go places and do things that a few other people are not. The promo below gives you a small sense of this, though at the same time it also features Madison doing what she can to do a rescue mission while Alicia tells her that they are more or less on their own now.
