‘Outlander’ season 3 filming officially underway!

For all of you out there who are “Outlander” fans, Sunday brings with it some celebration: Today marks the first day of filming for season 3, and there are some rather exciting times ahead! In the months to come Starz may choose to give out small trifles of information; until then, we also have fun behind-the-scenes tidbits and teasers from the cast and producers.

For the sake of this article, we have a few fun things to get you started.

Sam Heughan trolls fans with “older Jamie” – This wins “funniest exchange of the day.” (Warning: Minor book spoilers ahead.)

Just as the show jumped forward many years into the future with Claire last season, we’re also going to be flash-forwarding to a different period of time with Jamie. Therefore, Heughan gave us an opportunity to see a “behind-the-scenes” picture of older Jamie … only for this instead to be the perfect photo for Austin Powers fans everywhere.

If you’re not getting real images, jokes sometimes are the next-best thing!

Familiar scenery – just in case you were wondering, we’ve yet again got quite a muddy set! The photo below via executive producer Maril Davis proves it. If the show didn’t have muddy conditions, we suppose we would wonder if something was wrong.

Finally, the day was done – Cue the message from Heughan below. Everyone can relax and get some rest, but only temporarily. There are many more days to come!

There is no formal premiere date for season 3 just yet, but it feels safe to assume that it will be coming at some point in 2017. Throughout production, the link here shall be your source for all things “Outlander”! Hopefully the weeks ahead will be ripe with various announcements.
