‘Dancing with the Stars 23’: JoJo Fletcher, Jake T. Austin could reportedly join Simone Biles
The new season of “Dancing with the Stars” is going to announce its cast on “Good Morning America” come Tuesday, August 30. Based on some of the rumors that are floating around there already, it’s looking like this season in particular could have a rather notable cast.
According to a report from E! News, former Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher is one of the contenders who is under consideration for the new season, and joining her is former “Wizards of Waverly Place” / “The Fosters” star Jake T. Austin and then also Olympic gymnast Simone Biles. ABC is not commenting on some of these rumors, so it’s a little early to tell their validity. Also, remember that being considered for the cast doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be aboard.
When it comes to Fletcher and Austin, it is fairly easy to assume that both parties could be involved given that they each have a history with shows that share a parent company with “Dancing with the Stars.” JoJo has also said that she is open to it, though we have wondered if the near-constant rumors about her relationship with Jordan Rodgers would cause here a little bit of concern given that tabloids are always around this show.
With Biles, our feeling was always that she’d do the spring edition, given that the post-Olympics hype coupled with a tour could be a little overwhelming. If she is on this season, we’d go ahead and consider her the favorite by a wide margin. Who could really compete with her at this particular point in her career and with her popularity so high?
Yesterday, we did go ahead and suggest that swimmer Ryan Lochte could also see his name floated out there just as an image-booster / ratings for ABC. We’ll see if that happens.
