‘Bachelor in Paradise 3’ review: Caila Quinn’s arrival and Josh Murray drama galore
There are many things on “Bachelor in Paradise” that we have come to learn over the years, and one of the biggest ones is that this show has a tendency to really just regurgitate one thing after another time and time again. On Monday night’s new episode of the series, that said thing was the reactions to Caila Quinn’s arrival.
We’ve certainly heard the comparison between her and a Disney princess among many people out there time and time again, and we especially got this courtesy of Emily Ferguson, who felt like her relationship with Jared Haibon was being taken from her thanks to his arrival.
As for the other chapter of “this week in regurgitation,” once again everyone wanted to bring up Josh Murray’s past, and the edit continued to try and make him look like a heel. The reality is that we weren’t there for his time with Andi Dorfman, so we cannot really get into what did or did not happen; yet, at the same time watching the show certainly does not make us sympathetic to Josh. He has a very intimidating air about him, and it is certainly a different look than we had from him during much of Andi’s season.
We suppose the new “dramatic moment” of the episode came via Evan Bass getting himself too wasted and in need of medical attention. The show REALLY played this up like it was an episode of “ER.” He was ultimately okay, and for some reason it actually brought him and Carly Waddell closer together. Odd, but we’ll just roll with it for now … just like we’ll role with the show conveniently introducing Ashley Iaconetti right when Jared was getting close to someone else. Oh, THIS will be fun.
For the most part, though, this show is cheesy at best, and surprising boring at other times. Grade: C+.
