‘Major Crimes’ season 5, episode 8 preview: When will it return to TNT?

“Major Crimes” has certainly given us an eventful season so far, with cases running the gamut from tourism to terrorism. There have been very few dull moments, and one of the things that the show has done a particularly great job with is giving almost every supporting character something to dive into. When you have a show with this many great characters, meaty material was a must!

Unfortunately, you’re going to have to take a deep breath and a step back following Monday night’s new episode, given that there is no new episode airing on TNT on August 8. Instead, you will have to wait to August 15 in order to see the next new episode air.

As to what exactly you can expect when the show comes back, be prepared for a story (entitled “Off the Wagon”) that is going to revolve in part around Flynn and Tao investigating what happened to a young Hollywood star who seems to have died of an overdose. However, this is “Major Crimes”! This is not a show that tends to resolve things easily, so we imagine that things are going to be rather complicated over the course of the hour.

Also, be prepared for a side story that will continue Rusty and his biological mother’s journey for understanding. These are people who have not been on the same page regarding her pregnancy, and we’d like to see that change before the end of the summer run. We’re not sure that this is the sort of plotline that has legs going into the next part of the season.
