‘Girl Meets World’ season 3, episode 9 video: What Riley’s choice could meet for Lucas, Maya

It is very much interesting just how quickly the tables can turn on a show like “Girl Meets World.” Prior to the start of “Girl Meets Ski Lodge: Part 1,” it was clear that Lucas held most of the cards when it comes to the romantic future of himself, Riley, and Maya. He claims that he’s made a choice between the two of them, but is holding back from announcing it out of some latent insecurity. He doesn’t want to lose a friend, but he has to realize that the longer he waits, the worse it could be.

Now, there is another problem with the length of time in which he waited — if he was going to choose Riley, her romantic interest may be fixed elsewhere. The promo below for Part 2 does feature a further complication from the end of Part 1, and there could be a major ripple effect if Riley goes in this direction. If Lucas wants to date Maya after this, will Maya feel like it’s happening just because Riley is smitten with someone else?

Of course, it’s also just possible that Riley learns through this situation that she really does like Lucas more, or that she at least doesn’t want to be left to sit around and wonder if the two of them will have a relationship. Suddenly, she’s more in control over her own destiny.

In the end, we just hope that whatever happens here is realistic to these characters, and also definitive enough that the show doesn’t try to dwell on a love triangle for another ten or so episodes.
