‘The Bachelorette’ review: Did Robby Hayes’ ex reveal ruin JoJo Fletcher’s hometown dates?
As expected, Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelorette” was super-juicy, and may have been one of the more compelling hometown date episodes we’ve seen in some time when it comes to content and content alone. A good bit happened on some of these dates, and in turn, there was a rather hefty bit of drama.
To us, the biggest “event” of the episode was Robby Hayes admitting to JoJo Fletcher that her ex — or, a “roommate” of her ex — was spreading some nasty talk about him breaking up with her right before going on the show. We respect him at first for telling her about it as soon as he found out; however, we don’t buy for a second that he “doesn’t know” why she would be out to hurt him. Either she is really just bitter, wants some sort of fame, or he did something to hurt her.
We don’t know these people, so we really cannot say who is telling the truth and who isn’t. For now, we just know that this is a giant problem JoJo will have to deal with if she goes down this road.
As for some other dates…
Jordan Rodgers – Hey, at least there’s another moderately compelling story here. Jordan and his brother have a testy relationship, and it’s clear nobody wants to really talk about it. Maybe this is something best saved for some off-camera conversations?
Chase McNary – Chase seems nice enough, but we gotta be honest: There is really not much interesting here. Chase to us has never really popped off the TV, though he does seem to be a nice guy.
Luke Pell – They have physical chemistry, but we gotta be honest: This felt more like an audition reel for “The Bachelor” than anything else.
In the end … a cliffhanger! Well, a small one. It still feels like she’s sending Luke home since he only told her he loved her at the last second. Episode Grade: B.
