‘Arrow’ season 5: See Cody Rhodes’ response to casting news
While this has been a relatively quiet weekend when it comes to TV headlines (no surprise there, given that this is the July 4 holiday), there was one big bit of news that came out of Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey earlier today: Cody Rhodes, former WWE wrestler and friend / fake-rival of Stephen Amell, is going to be appearing on an upcoming “Arrow” episode.
While the specifics of his role are unclear, Rhodes is certainly making it clear that he does take the responsibility of the part seriously. He posted a photo on Witter (see below) earlier today, and attached the caption to it that he steps into this “respectfully” and “humbly.” We’re feeling pretty good that he’ll deliver in the part just because he’s been around fandoms enough to know what they are looking for, and his relationship with Amell offers him up at least some background info.
Rhodes is joining what is a pretty fantastic guest cast in general for the fifth season, one that includes Josh Segarra of “Chicago PD” fame and then also “The Walking Dead” Chad Coleman, who is going to be playing a particularly dangerous new foe. In general the entire DC – CW universe has been the recipient of great casting over the past week or two, given that Tom Felton (a.k.a. Draco from the “Harry Potter” films) is going over to “The Flash” while “Supergirl” has in its midst “Teen Wolf” alum Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
Once there is more news on Rhodes’ casting, rest assured we’ll have it for you!
