‘Preacher’ premiere: AMC releases commentary with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg
Earlier this week, AMC finally lifted the veil on the long-awaited pilot for their “Preacher” series, and it was completely and utterly bananas. It was fun to see this comic book finally come to TV, and in a way that was funny, extreme, action-packed, and dramatic enough to fit right into the genre. Ultimately, we think that this is a show that can spread like wildfire via word-of-mouth and become so much bigger than it is at present.
For those of you who are dreading waiting until a week from Sunday for new episodes to resume, the network has lifted the veil on another lovely gift to get you through Memorial Day Weekend: A commentary track for the premiere episode. If you head over here (and enter your TV subscription), you can see what directors / executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg explain some of the creative process behind bringing this show to life, and to go along with it, some great details behind the scenes.
“Preacher” is a show that had a long journey towards getting on the air, but we gotta say that it was probably worth the wait! Had these come out sooner, can you imagine what they would have looked like? They would have been far more diluted when it comes to content, and not anywhere near as extreme. Good things come to those who wait, right? Well, this clearly was worth that and then some since it’s hard to be upset with anything that the show ended up bringing to the table tonight.
Of course, we’ll have some other coverage of the rest of the season over at this link, to be sure to check back early and often for some further news.
