‘Reign’ season 3, episode 16 preview: Mary’s big arrival in Scotland and more

“Reign” on Monday night clearly had an important  episode when it comes to Mary and her journey to eventually get back to Scotland. There have definitely been a wide array of different developments, and many of these are going to shape and form the remainder of the season.

This brings us to the next new episode of the show entitled “Clans” (airing in two weeks) which you can see the synopsis for below:

“When Mary (Adelaide Kane) arrives in Scotland, she is stunned by the treacherous world it has become and is forced her to keep her royal identity a secret until she learns who she can trust. When Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) jeopardizes her standing with an unbearable new suitor, Lola (Anna Popplewell) steps in to help, which causes the Queen to question Lola’s ulterior motives. Meanwhile, Charles (guest star Spencer MacPherson) secretly plots to relinquish Catherine (Megan Follows) of her power.”

Based on the promo below, it feels like one of the biggest themes of all for the premiere is going to be that of culture shock in so many ways. Mary is going to feel like the rightful ruler in so many ways, but at the same exact time, she’s going to face some opposition from some people who are not necessarily used to the idea of her being the ruler to the same extent that she is. This will be a point of conflict, but it’ll set up a wide array of other things over the course of the final episodes.
