ABC 2016 Fall Schedule: ‘Scandal’ season 6 delayed; ‘Agents of SHIELD’ moves, ‘Secrets & Lies’ returns
There were many moments of intrigue with ABC going into the reveal of their fall schedule, but one of the biggest surprises may just be in how much they are prioritizing comedies. While NBC has just a single hour of comedy on their fall schedule, and the same goes for Fox in terms of half-hour series, the alphabet network is trotting out in total five full hours of it every week.
Meanwhile, some massive changes under new programming head Channing Dungey are leading to some other shifts, including “Nashville” and “Castle” not being around for the first time in years. Kerry Washington’s pregnancy is pushing back the “Scandal” season 6 premiere until midseason, so there is also a new show after “Grey’s Anatomy” for the first time in a long time. We’ll have to see ultimately how that fares.
Take a look at the full fall schedule below.
Mondays
8:00 – Dancing with the Stars
10:00 – Conviction (new drama)
Tuesdays
8:00 – The Middle (new time)
8:30 – American Housewife (new comedy)
9:00 – Fresh Off the Boat (new time)
9:30 – The Real O’Neals (new time)
10:00 – Agents of SHIELD (new time)
Wednesdays
8:00 – The Goldbergs (new time)
8:30 – Speechless (new comedy)
9:00 – Modern Family
9:30 – black-ish
10:00 – Designated Survivor (new drama)
Thursdays
8:00 – Grey’s Anatomy
9:00 – Notorious (new drama)
10:00 – How to Get Away with Murder
Fridays
8:00 – Last Man Standing
8:30 – Dr. Ken
9:00 – Shark Tank
10:00 – 20/20
Sundays
7:00 – America’s Funniest Home Videos
8:00 – Once Upon a Time
9:00 – Secrets & Lies
10:00 – Quantico
Most of this schedule is fairly predictable. “Agents of SHIELD” will probably still lift the Tuesdays-at-10 average even with lower ratings, while at the same exact time it’s just nice to see “Secrets & Lies” actually on a schedule again after so many terrible delays.

Nashville featured original music, story lines that weren’t laden with violence and a great alternative to almost all of the other network programming. So sick of the reality shows, the ripped from the headlines shows, the emergency room blood and guts. These talented song writers and artists are out of a job so AND can broadcast more carp. I hope that Nashville fans rise up and protest!! TV is sickening for the most part. The characters names might be different but the content is replicated from show to show. We pay cable companies big bucks to shove this stuff down our throats. We should get a vote. Rick Castle could have carried on without Kate. Quick witted, fun show. Join forces to keep Nashville on tv!! UNITED WE STAND!!!

Please, I won’t miss NASHVILLE one bit. And it was only on 4 years. CASTLE I’m still baffled about. My guess is ABC didn’t wanna take the risk of keeping the show going without the duo, or a female replacement. And ratings were slowly declining despite still being solid.
