‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 21 preview: Jada Pinkett Smith returns as Fish Mooney

We are now in the home stretch for “Gotham” season 2, and with that, things are only going to get more and more dangerous for our main characters. Jim Gordon already has had a hard time courtesy of Azrael and Mr. Freeze, so why not go ahead and throw in one of the show’s other familiar faces along with that? Next week’s new episode entitled “Wrath of the Villains: A Legion of Horribles” will bring back Jada Pinkett Smith in the role of Fish Mooney, who she first played throughout the first season. We knew that she’d be coming back weeks ago, but this is the first chance we’ve had to hear about how she will impact the story.

The synopsis below, in the event you haven’t seen it just yet, makes it clear precisely how she will be back. To the surprise of no one, of course it involves none other than Hugo Strange:

“Hugo Strange welcomes a familiar face to GOTHAM after he resurrects Fish Mooney in Indian Hill. Later, Bruce discovers a friend is in danger and teams up with Gordon, Alfred and Lucius, while uncovering more of Strange’s experiments.”

Whatever happens here will almost surely carry over directly into the finale, and the promo below features everything from the return of Fish to Firefly doing her thing to also getting to see Bruce Wayne have a face-off with Strange in a way we did not expect before the finale. There’s a lot going on, and all of it feels pretty awesome.
