ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5, episode 21 (finale) spoilers: Running mates, Cyrus’ crisis, and more
Tonight, “Scandal” set in motion the events of the finale with “Trump Card,” a story that put the show’s version of Trump in Hollis Doyle at the center of the action. It was certainly an electric hour of TV, but we have a feeling (knowing this show as well as we do) that most shocking content is still yet to come.
This brings us to “That’s My Girl,” the upcoming season 5 finale that is coming your way on May 12th. We’re really starting to get the Presidential race going as running mates will be chosen, and both Olivia and Cyrus could be placed into situations that they were certainly not expecting. Is it hyperbole to say that things could change forever? Probably, but we’re going to go ahead and do so anyway.
For more, just take a look at the attached synopsis:
“As each presidential candidate gets ready to announce their running mate, Olivia finds herself in a potentially dire situation. Meanwhile, Cyrus is presented with damaging information that could alter the presidential race entirely.”
As for the promo below, we don’t exactly think that it does a whole lot to set up the story for this episode beyond just making it clear that lives are risk, politics could change for many people, and characters are at a crossroads. Given that this episode could be the last one we see for a while (due to Kerry Washington’s pregnancy, it’s possible the show won’t return until midseason), we really hope that it delivers.
