‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 20 preview: A big Chloe Bennet story; ‘Captain America: Civil War’ aftermath

If there was ever an episode of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” that was fairly hard to predict in advance, it is going to be the installment that airs on ABC next week. Just consider for a moment where we are when it comes to circumstances. We’ve seen the rise of Hive and the arrival of the Kree, but at the same time it’s possible that “Captain America: Civil War” could completely shake up the game altogether. We don’t know just how seismic an impact that film will have on the show.

One thing we do know is that if you want to avoid any potential spoiler, we suggest that you go out and see the movie before watching this episode entitled “Emancipation.” The synopsis below may have a tiny movie spoiler in some way included:

“With only two episodes left before S.H.I.E.L.D. loses one of their own, Daisy’s prophecy ticks closer towards a major loss, as the aftermath of the events of “Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War” force S.H.I.E.L.D. to register the Inhumans.”

Registering Inhumans is similar in some ways to stories that we’ve seen before, but given the deft hand that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has used at times for some familiar tropes, maybe they will find a way to also make this feel special.

Based on the promo below, what we do know is that there is going to be at least some consistency when it comes to Hive causing some carnage … and also putting some lives on the line. That will have to do for now.
