Finale Forecast: How to close the door on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 7

The good news for fans of “NCIS: Los Angeles” at the moment is that there is really no reason to worry about whether or not the show is going to be brought back for another season. After all, it’s already been renewed! Of course, that does not quite mean that the upcoming finale is without drama. As a matter of fact, Monday’s episode may be one of the most dangerous ones that we’ve seen yet, since the fate of a loved one is at risk.

We don’t want to waste too much time here with the setup; instead, let’s just dive into the latest edition of our Finale Forecast series.

What could happen – As the synopsis indicates, Sam’s son is in danger: “When Sam receives a distress code from his son Aiden (Tye White) that his school has been taken over by an extremist group, Sam, Callen, Kensi and Deeks rush to San Francisco to protect Aiden and free the hostages.” With that, expect an action-packed hour that is going to unite the team in ways that we don’t often seen. The entire focus of the story will likely be on this.

As for the relationship future for Kensi and Deeks, executive producer Scott Gemmill recently explained to TV Guide that you are probably not going to see a proposal this season: “We will not see, I don’t think, a proper proposal until next season, because we have an idea for how to do that that I want to play out. I already know how we’re going to do it. It’s just, the fans have waited long enough that we want it to be worth the wait.”

What should happen – We do want to see maybe a moment that can help bring us to that proposal, but we agree that given the nature of the story for the finale, it’s not the right timing. You don’t want to take away from what Sam is going through. As a finale this should be a plotline that reminds these characters more of what matters to them, and we’d really like to see at least one character question further if this is the right career path for them. Sure, you may be helping a lot of people, but you have to remember that every time you go out on a mission, you are effectively putting your life on the line.
